2014 Pool Season
Benjamin Hill was established as Benjamin Hill Park and placed under the direction of the Benjamin Hill Park Committee by Town Meeting Vote on October 22, 2001.
Pool Hours 2014: Pool open Memorial Day until Labor Day. Pool Open weekends only beginning May 24, 2014. Pool opening daily beginning June 14, 2014. Open swim hours are 1:00PM unitl 6:45PM.
The pool area has lifeguards, toys, chairs, picnic area, and shade. The Donald Farrar Jr. Activity Center, our new pool house, includes restrooms, changing areas, showers, a snack bar, and an indoor seating area. Facilities are fully handicapped accessible. No child under 13 years is admitted to the pool without a responsible adult. All infants and toddlers must be in Swim Diapers. All pool rules must be followed. The lifeguards on duty are in total control of the Benjamin Hill Pool and are responsible for the safe operation of the pool and the area.

The 136,000 gallon guinite pool had a major amount of done work in spring of 2013 when 30 coats of paint were removed by scraping and sandblasting. The cracks in the cement were then repaired and caulked and the pool was repainted fresh with depth numbers and safety lines. This was the biggest reconstruction project to the pool since the stainless steel gutters were installed.
Newly installed in summer of 2013 is a gravel walkway around the family playing field at Benjamin Hill Park. The walkway is one-fifth of a mile long so 5 laps = 1 mile. Thanks to the work of Neil Guthrie and the donated material from the Shirley Department of Public Works. Come exercise at BHP!
Construction on a new storage shad and ice skating pavillion began in fall of 2013. Stay tuned for more details.
