Each year in January, the Town Clerk and Board of Registrars send to each household an annual street listing form. Also known as the town census form, it helps us keep our list of residents and registered voters current, and is required by state law. If you did not receive a street listing form or move into town mid-year, you can download the form and mail it to Town Clerk, 7 Keady Way, Shirley, MA 01464.
The Federal Government takes a nationwide census every 10 years. This is a separate process conducted independently of annual street listings done by Massachusetts towns and cities.
The 2010 Federal Census figure for Shirley was 7,211 residents. This figure was comprised of 5,755 residents of Shriley and 1,456 inmates housed in the Correctional Facilities located in Shirley. The town's annual street listing/town census does not include or monitor these populations.
