Town meetings are  held in auditorium of Ayer Shirley Middle School

Annual Town Election
(changed from original date of May 14)
- Absentee ballots will be available approx. 3 wks before the election.
- Register to vote by Wed., April 10. Town Clerk's Office open 9a-8p that day for voter registration.

State Primary for U.S. Senate Seat
- Absentee ballots are currently available.  
- Register to vote or change parties by Wed., April 10. Town Clerk's office open 9am to 8pm that day for voter registration.

The Special State Primary is being held for the U.S. Senate seat that Senator John Kerry resigned from in order to serve as U.S. Secretary of State.

Annual Town Meeting
- Register to vote by Tues., April 30. Town Clerk's office open 9am to 8pm that day for voter registration. Absentee balloting is not possible.
Annual Town Meeting is held each spring.  Topics to be voted on will be listed in the Annual Town Meeting Warrant, normally finalized a few weeks before the meeting. The drafting of the warrant is overseen by the Board of Selectmen.

Special State Election for U.S. Senate Seat
- Absentee ballots will be available approx. 4 wks before the election.
- Register to vote by Wed., April 10. Town Clerk's Office open 9a-8p that day for voter registration.
The names of the candidates on the ballot will be determined by the outcome of the Special State Primary on April 30 and by nomination papers turned in by Non-Party Candidates.
