Mail Your Request for a 2010 Dog License Today!

Town and state laws require that all dogs be licensed each year, and dog licenses are sold through the Town Clerk’s office. 2010 licenses cost $15 per dog. 2009 licenses are valid through Dec 31, 2009, and there is a one-month grace period for purchases through Feb 1. After Feb 1, a $5 late fee applies, in accordance with town bylaw. The late fee does not apply if the dog is new to town less than 1 month or is less than 6 months of age. For 2010 Kennel License rates, please contact me at 978-425-2600, x205. A valid rabies certificate needs to be included with your request or be on file with the Town Clerk’s office.
Dog Licenses may be purchased by mailing your request to the Town Clerk’s Office at 7 Keady Way, Shirley, MA 01464. Please mail the following:
- a check made out to the Town of Shirley ($15 until Feb 1, $20 afterward) for each 2010 dog license.
- a self-addressed stamped envelope (include postage of $0.44 for 1-2 licenses and $0.61 for 3-4 licenses)
- a valid rabies certificate (unless we already have one on file for your pet). The certificate will be mailed back to you.

Low-cost rabies clinics are held in the spring of each year by the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health in conjunction with local veterinarians.
