Tuesday, May 15, 2012 - Annual Town Election. Register to vote by Wed., April 25.
**Thursday** Sept 6, 2012 - State Primary. Register to vote by by Fri, Aug 17.
Tuesday, November 6, 2012 - State and Presidential Election . Register to vote by Wed., Oct. 17
All elections take place at the Shirley Town Offices at 7 Keady Way in the large conference room on the first floor. Polls for town and state elections are open from 7am to 8pm. Polling hours for special elections held for the Ayer Shirley Regional School District may differ.

How and when to register to vote in Massachusetts
Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots for Elections may be requested through the Town Clerk's office. All requests for absentee ballots must be in writing and must be received by noon the day before an election. You may use the state's Absentee Ballot Request Form.
In order to vote on articles at Town Meetings, voters must be present at the meeting when the article is voted on. No provision exists under state law for Absentee Ballots for Town Meetings.

Town Meeting Information
All Shirley Town Meetings take place in the auditorium of the Ayer Shirley Middle School, 1 Hospital Road, Shirley, MA. They are generally scheduled to begin at 7:15pm.
