Jan. 31: Public hearing on draft bylaws regarding marijuana facilities

The Shirley Planning Board will conduct a Public Hearing on January, 31, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Office Building, Land Use Conference Room Second Floor, 7 Keady Way, Shirley MA 01464 to receive comment from the public on Shirley’s proposed warrant articles for rules for regulating marijuana in the Town of Shirley. The proposed warrant articles include many diverse options including options: (1) to ban all recreational marijuana establishments, or (2) to ban retail recreational marijuana establishments, or (3) to reasonably regulate the locations and zoning requirements for all types of marijuana establishments (including medical), and (4) to levy a sales tax on retail sales of recreational marijuana. Interested persons and organizations are encouraged to attend, and will have the opportunity to comment and be heard on the proposed warrant articles. The warrant articles are available at the Town Clerk’s Office for review. Reasonable accommodation will be attempted upon written request to the Planning Board Office prior to the meeting. The meeting room is handicapped accessible.
